Here is my frank evaluation on some search engine optimization tools I use or have used. If I have not used them but someone I know or respect suggests them, I will so note. Please remember though, studying this stuff is going to take considerable time as well as trial and error efforts. To put your Web marketing on steroids, contact me to help you plan your Web site, on-site seo and off-site seo marketing campaign or for a frank evaluation of your Web site. I will teach you how to use and interpret these tools as well. There’s never a charge to just chat!
Everyone touts Website Grader from Hubspot. Yes, I believe it is a petty good launch tool but frankly do not consider it gospel. Just too many holes in the algorithms. Plus I think it’s a ‘hook’ to lure you in to their paid services. It was, however, the first ‘eye opener’ to what a terrible job I was doing when I first started out. A great place to get started. I have noticed over the years that their criteria changes over time.
Check the page rank of any of your pages at Page Rank Checker. I do not get too hung up on page rank since I focus on visitors, conversions and sales. Search engine results (SERP, where p = page) mean more to me and I have seen some sites with higher results and lower page rank. It is also not so important in this day and age if you are a local marketer. Page rank is a formula developed by Larry Page of Google. It is but one (albeit heavy) factor in determining search engine results.
I just love Juicy Studio’s Readability Tests, especially when people tend to get professorial and egotistical. Hey, the Web is about sharing information not just tooting your own horn!
