LinkedIn No Nos

Here is a list, and sometimes a commentary about, some things you may not be aware of regarding  LinkedIn terms and conditions.  Try not to violate them or you might be punished or even banned.  In addition there are some bad practices should should generally avoid.  Practicing them is not good practices if you wish to maximize your networking strategies.

Profile

Section 10. LINKEDIN USER “DOS” and “DON’TS.”  B. Don’t undertake the following: 

2.  Publish inaccurate information in the designated fields on the profile form (e.g., do not include a link or an email address in the name field).

6. Upload a profile image that is not your likeness or a head-shot photo;

LinkedIn Police – Where Are They When You Need Them?

Violation of these can, of course, lead to LinkedIn termination of service. Is it worth it to you taking that risk? Not me!
