Add Skills To LinkedIn

Skills is a new section added to your LinkedIn profile.  As of this date (July 5, 2011) it is still listed as Beta.  My feeling is if LinkedIn keeps it, Skills will be a searchable field in yielding search results on queries.  There simply is no other really good answer for going through the time and trouble in my estimation.

Skills is found under the ‘More’ (last) pull down on your main navigation bar once I installed it from the ‘add sections.’

Or the ‘add sections’ is found in ‘Edit Profile’ just below your public profile address and the share – pdf – print link prompt area.

Add keywords to the skills and expertise search box and determine if the description describes your talents, then add. (Note:  I added ‘Digital Marketing’ in this example.)

Search box For Skills on LinkedIn Profile{Edited 4-16-12}  There were some changes made to the Skills section and new emphasis as of Feb. 14, 2012.  Here is a recently posted how to video detailing the new navigation.

One more step to finish – go to Edit Profile, scroll down to the Skills section and edit your proficiency and years of experience (maximum of 20).  {As shown on video}

So the final product appears complete.
