Major 2013 Changes | Upgrades to LinkedIn Personal Profiles
As a lot of you know, I have been touting the benefits of LinkedIn for business networking since 2009. In fact my first presentation on LinkedIn was for three levels of sales management while still employed as a commercial sales representative for ADT/Tyco. In 2010 I did my first library presentation on LinkedIn for Indian Trails Public Library in Wheeling, IL. I later re-engineered my presentation to use the same tools from a business perspective to job seekers looking for work. Since 2011 I have been teaching Advanced LinkedIn techniques to be found for job seekers mainly at Career Resource Center in Lake Forest, IL, as well as for other agencies and public libraries.
In May, 2012 I was honored to be accepted into SCORE Chicago as a resource mentor and workshop presenter. My first LinkedIn presentation for business professionals was downtown later that year in October. In November, a presentation for a SCORE partner and northwest suburban bank drew 69 attendees. I continue to do beginning LinkedIn as well as advanced LinkedIn workshops downtown for SCORE Chicago, as well as LinkedIn networking for business at various Chicago suburban library locations, for chambers of commerce as well as banks within the SCORE Chicago family.
I have been asked to make my presentations available and I find this is the easiest way since the files are quite large. This slide show reviews changes LinkedIn made to personal profiles earlier this year. Some features were added, some were moved and others lost. LinkedIn is a marvelous tool to expand your networking capabilities, and ultimately your business opportunities, exponentially. I hope you can use this information to enhance your being found in search.
